The Ford Expedition did not technically get a complete redesign, however it has been significantly updated for the 2015 model year, and as the exterior changes are pretty substantial, the updates seem to lean more towards a redesign that a mid-cycle facelift. 2015-ford-expedition-exterior-specs-features-redesign-mid-cycle-refreshAs we told you when looking at the 2015 Ford Expedition release date a while back, Ford has decided to downsize the engine that has been found under the hood of the Expedition for a number of years. In the past, the SUV was powered by a fuel-gulping V8, but as Ford is making a push for more eco-friendly engines, the hefty eight-cylinder has been replaced by a more fuel efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6.

You’ll be sure that the number eight hasn’t disappeared from the Expedition completely, however. The SUV still offers a great deal of space for a slew of cargo, or up to eight passengers. Seeing as the many of the SUVs that reside in the same class as the Expedition offer some serious luxury, you can find a great deal of innovative features inside the refreshed SUV including the voice-activated Ford SYNC system.

With a name like Expedition, you can just imagine how many off-road-friendly features come equipped in the 2015 Ford Expedition. The SUV has no troubles living up to its name with conveniences such as a hill start assist and descent control, an available trailer brake controller and a truck app that makes towing and off-roading easier than ever before by displaying important information about the vehicle’s performance right on the LED screen in the gauge cluster. It helps to keep you and your passengers safe at all times.

Although we’re likely still a few months away from the 2015 Ford Expedition release date, there’s no doubt that the information that we have heard about already has us excited for the day that the Expedition finally arrives here at our dealership near Kansas City MO.
