Aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 Release Date

We recently told you about all of the benefits that will come from the switch to an aluminum body on the 2015 Ford F-150, but we also thought that it would be worthwhile to inform you about everything else that the pickup will offer. We’re still a bit of a ways off from the Aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 release date—which is set to take place later this year in June or July—but giving you an in-depth look at the all-new pickup’s capabilities sounds like a great way to prepare you for the day that we do get the 2015 Ford F-150 in Kansas City, MO.

As we’ve said, the switch to aluminum knocked 700 pounds off the total weight of the F-150. Therefore, the high-displacement 3.5-liter engine from the past isn’t necessary. The same amount of power can be achieved with a smaller, more fuel efficient engine, which is why Ford has chosen to stick a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine under the hood. To maximize efficiency and capability, the engine is equipped with a number of features that include auto start/stop technology, a variable-displacement oil pump and stronger yet light connecting rods.

For those who aren’t familiar with Ti-VCT engines, it basically means that the engine is capable of automatically adjusting intake and exhaust to enhance efficiency. However, the extreme power of the engine is always on call and ready to show up whenever you need it.

As you would expect, these aren’t the only two engines that will be offered in the brand-new 2015 Ford F-150. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine from past models will still be offered in the nose of the F-150, and the proven power of the 5.0-liter V8 Ti-VCT will also make a return. Whether you need efficiency or power, you can get both under the hood of the new F-150.

Regardless of the engine, the Ford F-150 will be capable of some extreme power. Official numbers haven’t been released yet, but Ford claims that the “all-new F-150 is designed to deliver more towing and hauling capability than the previous generation and the technology to do it with confidence.” Those who rely heavily on towing are sure to appreciate that the 2015 F-150 will come with an available Dynamic Hitch Assist which helps guide your hitch ball right to the trailer’s receiver. Of course trailer sway control will also be made available.

Ford is putting a lot of focus on the brand-new aluminum exterior of the new F-150, so we don’t really have an idea of what will be included on the inside yet, but the website shows that there will be some 400-watt outlets spread throughout the cabin and there will be an Around View Monitor system which will allow you to get a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the truck and its surroundings at all times.

As we said, the Aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 release date is still a few months away, so it may be some time before Ford lets us have all the juicy details about their new pickup. However, you can be sure that as soon as the information is released, we will have it right here on the Matt Ford blog. We have to say that we’re pretty excited to get the brand-new 2015 Ford F-150 in Kansas City, MO.
