2014 Ford Fiesta and Focus Fuel Economy Ratings

If you’ve been keeping up with that latest Ford news, you likely know that the automaker is making quite the push to boost the fuel economy ratings of all the vehicles in the lineup. Many of the 2015 models set to arrive this year are getting slight boosts in efficiency, and even the smaller cars are expect to reduce fuel consumption, which will add to the already-high 2014 Ford Fiesta and Focus fuel economy ratings.

From our experience in selling cars over the last 38 years, we’ve found that fuel economy is one of the most important capabilities when it comes to car buyers in the Kansas City area. For that reason, we’ve decided to take a closer look at the ratings of the aforementioned smaller Ford offerings, the 2014 models of the subcompact Ford Fiesta and the compact Ford Focus.

The fuel economy ratings span a good sized range, and as you can imagine, the smaller of the offerings, the 2014 Ford Fiesta, is at the top of the fuel economy charts. The subcompact comes equipped with the same one-liter three-cylinder engine that will be found in the 2015 Ford Focus. The smaller-displacement engine is able to return a highway fuel economy rating of 43, allowing you to save a great deal on gas.

Efficiency also comes standard in the 2014 Ford Focus, and although it’s slightly larger than the Fiesta, it’s able to return similar fuel economy ratings. The compact car even breaks the 40 mpg barrier, as it’s able to return ratings of 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. As we mentioned earlier, the 2015 Focus model will receive the same three-cylinder as the Fiesta, which will likely boost efficiency.

Here at Matt Ford we have a great deal of fuel efficient cars for sale near Kansas City MO. If you’re looking to give your wallet a break, we highly suggest that you trade in your current car for one of these two efficient options. While we offer cold hard cash for your trade in, you also have the option to put the value of your trade in towards a new fuel efficient car such as the 2014 Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus.
