2014 Ford Fiesta Specs and Features
For a subcompact car, the 2014 Ford Fiesta is surprisingly versatile. It’s all the proof you need that big things really do come in small packages. To help show you exactly how capable the Fiesta is, we thought it would be helpful to take a closer look at the 2014 Ford Fiesta specs and features. That way you can get a better idea of absolutely everything that the subcompact car contains before you stop by our showroom to take it for a test drive.
Subcompact cars are obviously known for their small size, but as you probably know, small size also translates to high fuel economy ratings. That couldn’t be any truer in the Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta provides a best-in-class highway fuel economy of 45 mpg on the highway. A lot of subcompacts on the market struggle to break the 40 mpg barrier, but the Ford Fiesta does it with ease. Even in the city, the subcompact is capable of traveling up to 32 mpg, which gives the Fiesta a combined fuel economy rating of 37 mpg.
Those impressive fuel economy ratings stem from Ford’s 1.0-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which we recently told you will be found under the hood of the 2015 Ford Focus. Even with those impressive fuel economy ratings, the three-cylinder is capable of some serious power. The engine delivers an output of 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque, which may not seem like much, but when you consider the fact that the Fiesta is a small subcompact car, its output is actually quite impressive.
Those seeking more power can opt for the ST trim of the Fiesta which equips a turbocharged version of the base 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The turbocharged engine is able to deliver 197 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque, which is extremely powerful for the size of the Fiesta. Even with the extra power, the turbo-four is still capable of achieving 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. Whether you need efficiency, power or both, you can find it in the 2014 Ford Fiesta.
The real versatility in the Fiesta can be found on the inside. The subcompact offers a surprisingly spacious passenger volume of 85 cubic feet, which is similar to some of the larger compact vehicles on the market. If you need a little extra storage space, you’ll find that the hatchback model of the Fiesta is best. The hatchback provides a total cargo volume of 25 cubic feet behind the first row of seats which is more than enough to fit just about anything that you can imagine.
