2016 Ford Focus RS U.S. Release Date

UPDATE: It has been confirmed. The 2016 Ford Focus RS will be getting a U.S. release date. The 320-horsepower AWD hatchback will arrive at dealerships in spring of 2016. Check out the photos below and read more about the 2016 Ford Focus RS here on our blog.

We have some exciting news for all of the Focus RS enthusiasts out there. Although the RS has only been available in Europe, it has been announced that the performance-tuned model may be making its way to the other side of the pond as early as 2016. As of right now the news has not been confirmed, but insiders are saying that the 2016 Ford Focus RS U.S. release date is definitely in the works. The only problem is that it is expected to be quite difficult to get one of the vehicles, as they will have to be imported from Europe, meaning numbers will be low.

There have been a great deal of new features finding their way into Ford vehicles this year, but perhaps the most unconventional of them has to do with the driver’s seat. The automaker is currently working on a seat that can measure the pilot’s heart rate in real time and can dial an ambulance if something goes awry. The Ford heart attack monitoring driver’s seat is still in the production phase, but we now know a bit more about what the feature will consist of. Most of the features currently found in Ford vehicles protect if an accident occurs, but with the new Ford pedestrian detection pre-collision assist system, the vehicle is able to keep the seatbelts and airbags from ever having to work in the first place.
