2015 Ford Escape Power and Fuel Economy Ratings

The Ford Escape continues to gain a great deal of popularity in the Kansas City area, as the small SUV is able to deliver a range of capabilities. Although the runt of the Ford SUV lineup, the Escape packs quite the punch, and that’s especially true when it comes to its power output. With a closer look at the 2015 Ford Escape power and fuel economy ratings, it’s quite clear to see exactly why such a growing number of residents are “escaping” their mundane rides and turning to the exhilarating 2015 Ford Escape.

There are three different four cylinder engines offered beneath the hood of the 2015 model of the Ford Escape, and while they all produce a unique set of numbers, each one is able to strike an appealing balance between performance and fuel efficiency. In fact, none of the engines have highway fuel economy estimates below 30 mpg and they all get at least 168 horsepower. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Although the economy ratings only differ by about a mile or two per gallon, if you want to get the most out of the fuel in your tank, you’ll find that the 1.6-liter engine offered in the Escape SE and Titanium trims is the powertrain for you. As it employs EcoBoost technology, it is able to achieve ratings of 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway when all of its turbocharged power is directed exclusively to the front two wheels. Also, with 178 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque coming from the engine, it’s not only the most efficient of the options, but the second most powerful. If you seek balance, this is the engine for you.

If power is more your thing, you’ll find that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder—also offered in the SE and Titanium trims—is more adequate of meeting your needs. As the engine also has EcoBoost technology, it houses a turbocharging system that helps to give the 2015 Ford Escape an output of 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of twist. It’s this engine that provides the SUV with it’s extreme 3,500-pound towing capacity. Even with such a great deal of power, the engine is able to return 22 mpg in city driving and 30 mpg on the highway.

The EcoBoost engines offered in the 2015 Ford Escape are just one of the great features of the SUV. On top of its ability to deliver unrivaled performance and fuel economy, the specs and features found within the crossover help to provide it with a level of versatility that is quite unlike anything that you’ve ever experienced before. It also comes equipped with a variety of safety and security features that help make the crossover a great vehicle for families.
