2015 Ford Explorer Towing Capacity

Just about every one of the Ford vehicles on the market have names that accurately describe exactly what they are capable of. It’s a claim backed by taking a look at just about every one of the SUVs in the lineup. For example, there is the Escape, Flex, Expedition and of course the Explorer. The Explorer has become one of the most popular Ford models over the past few years, as it is not only able to deliver power and efficiency on city and highway roads, but on more unconventional off-road trails and paths as well.

2015-ford-explorer-towing-capacity-suv-boat-camper-rv-hitch-roof-railsSeeing as the Ford Explorer is meant to explore, it comes equipped with a range of features that allow you to take on just about any terrain that you come across. It also features a spacious cargo area and a set of roof rails to help you to pack all of your belongings, but if you travel heavy, you will be sure that the 2015 Ford Explorer towing capacity is able to accommodate a great deal of weight so that you can load up all of your extra belongings on a trailer or bring along a boat, jet ski, dirt bikes or a camper.

A short while back when we looked at the 2015 Ford Explorer performance specs, we told you that the Explorer is made available with a number of different engines. It doesn’t matter what type of engine you opt for, however, as each one of them is able to tow some serious weight without a hitch—figuratively speaking, of course. Let’s take a look at the towing capacity of all three of the engines.

If you choose either one of the 3.5-liter V6 engines, you will be able to tow as much as 5,000 pounds with ease. It’s more than enough power to pull any of the items that we mentioned above. If you don’t need as much towing power or if you don’t plan to use your Ford Explorer for towing too often, you will find that the 2000-pound towing capacity of the smaller 2.0-liter four-cylinder is more than enough for your needs.

With such an impressive amount of towing power, it really comes as no surprise that residents living in and around the Kansas City area are turning to the 2015 Ford Explorer. If you have a sense of adventure and want to get a vehicle that is just as willing to take on the unknown as you are, look no further than the Explorer. If you want to put the towing capacity to the test for yourself, be sure to get in touch with us here at Matt Ford. We would be more than happy to introduce you to the superior capabilities of the SUV.

My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 3.6 V6 puts out 290 hp and tows 6200 lbs. I have a 2015 26 ft Milan Travel Trailer that weighs 4800 lbs. I pull it in the mountains of Arizona and Colorado with ease. That Explorer pales in comparison!

  2. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. But think about if you added some great graphics or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this website could undeniably be one of the most beneficial in its niche. Wonderful blog!

  6. I am especially proud because credit unions are not-for-profit organization that exists to serve their membership rather than shareholders whom seek maximize profit through fees and services. I just love my Credit Union.

My first experience with my Credit Union was in 2008. At the time, I was working over 30 miles away from my home, and need cash bad. I call them and they were able to wire funds immediately to a local place. The customer service was awesome.

There is no way you can pull 5000 lbs and run on the freeway with an Explorer. Just rented a u haul 6×12 open trailer with a ramp weight posted is 2290 lbs. If you like running at 4000 rpms to reach 60 mph and maintain and redline to 6k going up a hill with empty trailer then this is the vehicle for you. Oh do not forget about 11 mpg running 55 mph also. This vehicle is a dog unless you pull less than a thousand pounds.. I would like to ride see the guy trying to pull that big boat out of the water unless everything is downhill to the lake it would take 2 days to get there . I had to take the trailer back and borrow a real truck to do the move.

  9. Thanks for every other fantastic article. Where else may anybody get
that type of information in such an ideal means of writing?
I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m at the search for such information.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
