2015 Ford Fiesta Safety Features
The Ford Fiesta is classified as a compact car, which essentially means that it is among the smallest cars on the market. When most of our customers come in and take a look at it, they are often surprised by its size, and typically turn away from it because of its size alone. For most, a smaller vehicle translates to a more dangerous one. That may be true in some cases, but we can assure you that it is not with the Fiesta.
There are a wide variety of systems in the Fiesta that help to keep the driver and all passengers protected at all times. The 2015 Ford Fiesta safety features are undoubtedly plentiful, and although it is not able to defy the laws of physics, the overall safety of the vehicle is quite impressive for its subcompact size. In addition to many cabin-filling airbags, it has a rigid safety cage that comes reinforced with Boron steel.
On the inside of the Fiesta, there is a total of seven airbags, which ensures that all five passengers are well protected in the event of an accident. In fact, the Ford Fiesta was the first in its class to offer an airbag for the driver’s knees. It inflates between the knees and instrument panel to keep the legs from being injured in a front-end collision. That, in addition to the front-seat front and side airbags gives the driver a total of three areas of protection, which is more than many of the other, lesser-equipped subcompact cars out there.
In the back, rear passengers get some help from the side driver airbags that we just mentioned. In certain side-impact collisions, the side-curtain airbags roll down and provide cushion for the head and body of both outboard passengers. Plus, as the airbags feature roll-fold technology, they inflate between the window glass and passenger’s head, helping to keep the curtain against the glass to keep any shards from flying in.
In addition to the slew of airbags, the 2015 Ford Fiesta equips a variety of safety features that help to keep the airbags from ever having to deploy. It has a stability control system and a few other features that help to monitor the performance of the vehicle, and it also is made available with a rear view backup camera.
