2015 Ford Focus vs 2015 Ford Fiesta
The Focus and Fiesta are two of the most commonly-compared vehicles in the Ford lineup as they are fairly close in terms of capabilities, size and price. They are so close, in fact, that determining what the differences are can be quite difficult if you are unfamiliar with either of the options. For that reason, we thought that it would be helpful to take a closer look at the 2015 Ford Focus vs 2015 Ford Fiesta.
In both vehicles, four-cylinder engines are the only size that you will find. If you opt for the Ford Fiesta, the engine is a bit smaller, and that is because the vehicles itself is smaller. The Fiesta comes standard with a 1.6-liter engine that is able to produce as much as 120 horsepower, and the slightly larger Focus takes on a four-cylinder that displaces two liters and that has the ability to generate as much as 160 horsepower.
One of the biggest similarities between the Focus and Fiesta has to do with the other engine option that can be equipped under the hood. In the past, the Fiesta was the only one to offer the highly-sought-after three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, but for the 2015 model year, the small, yet capable engine will be making its way into the nose of the Ford Focus as well. Regardless of model, the engine will make 123 horsepower.
We still have yet to hear about the fuel economy ratings that will stem from the 2015 Ford Focus, but if they are anything quite like the ratings that come from the Fiesta, we have some pretty high expectations. When the three-cylinder engine is equipped in the Fiesta, the subcompact car is able to travel as far as 43 mpg on the highway. Seeing as the Focus is slightly larger, it may not be able to pull in the exact same number, but we have a good feeling that the 2015 model will be able to get over 40 mpg on the highway.
If you are looking to choose based solely on the amount of space in both of the options, be sure to check out our blog post on the difference between subcompact and compact cars. If you want to know more about the Focus and Fiesta specifically, however, be sure to contact us. We would be more than happy to get you behind the wheel of both vehicles so that you can decide for yourself which is the better option.
It seems that we are still a little ways off from the 2015 Ford Focus release date, and for that reason it could be some time before we know what the compact car will all be capable of, but we will be sure to keep you updated here on the Matt Ford blog so be sure to check back in the near future for more details.
