2015 Ford Transit Pricing and Release

We have spent a great deal of time discussing the increasingly-popular Ford Transit here on the Matt Ford blog, but we have still been receiving a number of questions about the 2015 Ford Transit pricing and release, so we thought that it would be beneficial to address the most common questions.

Ford is currently producing the Transit right here in Kansas City, and has said that the versatile cargo van will be released this summer. We still have not received a confirmed date, but expect the van to hit showrooms by the end of July, if not sooner.

Thankfully, the release date is one of the few things about the 2015 Ford Transit that hasn’t been announced yet. Pricing for the cargo van has been released, and not surprisingly, the prices are extremely affordable. The all-new Transit boasts a starting MSRP of $29,565, and when you consider all of the features and capabilities that you get for that price, it’s extremely reasonable.

Another one of the newest announcements for the 2015 Ford Transit involves the fuel economy of the cargo van. As we stated in previous posts, the Transit will be made available with three gas-powered engines, each of which will produce some serious power while remaining conscious of fuel economy.

The two V6 options both return the same 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway ratings, but if you need a bit more power, you’ll find that the 310-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is a bit more appealing than the 275-horsepower 3.7-liter which comes standard under the hood. If you’re willing to sacrifice efficiency for power, however, the 4.6-liter V8 is undoubtedly the engine most capable of suiting your needs.

On top of the three gasoline engines, the 2015 Ford Transit will be made available with a 3.2-liter Powerstroke turbo diesel engine. It’s not the most powerful of the options, but at 185 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, it’s not the weakest either. Fuel economy estimates haven’t been released yet, but as the engine is fueled by diesel, the ratings will likely be higher than those of the pair of V6 engines.

With such an impressive set of capabilities and affordable pricing, it’s highly likely that the 2015 Ford Transit will go quick when the release date arrives this summer. If you’re interested in learning more about the release of the Transit, be sure to check back here on the Matt Ford blog where we will have all of the details as soon as they’re made available.
