2016 Ford Mustang Engine Options
The Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic vehicles on the road. It has always been characterized by a styling that is truly American, and performance that offers a thrilling driving experience. The new 2016 Ford Mustangs have recently arrived at Matt Ford, and we have had a lot of customers coming into the dealership asking us about the engine options that are being offered with the new 2016 model. So we are going to spend a little time highlighting the athletic engine options that are offered on the new 2016 Ford Mustang.
Ford believes in providing their customers with a lineup of vehicles with a lot of different options, so that drivers can find the Ford that is perfect for them. The Mustang is certainly no exception to that, and that is why they offer a wide-variety of advanced, high-performance powertrains for drivers to choose from on the 2016 Ford Mustang.
The Ford Mustang was completely remodeled and revamped last year for 2015. Therefore, most of the engine options from the previous year will be carrying over the the new 2016 model year. Ford will be carrying over the three engine options from last year, and adding one all-new powertrain as well.
We expect that most drivers will opt for the standard 3.7-liter, six-cylinder engine. This powertrain offers a very respectable 300 horsepower with 280 pound-feet of torque. It also has a fuel economy rating of 19 miles per gallon in the city, and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Another engine option is the 2.3-liter, four-cylinder, EcoBoost engine that was all-new for last year. That powertrain is able to achieve a slightly better 310 horsepower with 320 pound-feet of torque. The EcoBoost also offers the best fuel economy in the lineup with 21 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. The third engine option is truly an American classic. Yes, we are talking about the power-packed 5.0-liter, eight-cylinder found on the Ford Mustang GT. This beastly powertrain offers a monstrous 435 horsepower with 400 pound-feet of torque.
We also told you about an all-new powertrain option that is being offered for the new 2016 model year. This is by far the most advanced and powerful engine in the Mustang lineup, and it is only being offered with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R models. It is a 5.2-liter, flat-plane crank, eight-cylinder engine. This powertrain is able to produce an astounding 526 horsepower with 429 pound-feet of torque. That is enough performance to challenge and humble even the most experienced drivers.
Shoppers who would like to take a test drive in a 2016 Ford Mustang to experience the joy of this amazing vehicle for themselves are encouraged to visit us at our Matt Ford dealership.
