2017 Ford Focus RS 2.3-Liter Engine Specs

Not too long ago, Ford announced that they would be bringing their popular Ford Focus RS to the states as one of the 12 promised performance vehicles, and ever since we heard the news, we have been waiting in anticipation for the new hatchback to arrive. Unfortunately we won’t be seeing it until next year at the latest, but we do have some exciting news to share with you before the official release of the Focus RS.

Although we are still quite a ways from seeing the performance-tuned five-door on American soil, we know a bit about the engine and the drivetrain of the RS, and not surprisingly, the alleged output is in line with what we were hoping for. Let’s take a closer look at the 2017 Ford Focus RS 2.3-liter engine specs.

According to the automaker, the Focus RS will share an engine with the 2015 Ford Mustang. It will come equipped with the same four-cylinder found in the nose of the pony car, and as it employs EcoBoost technology, the turbocharged engine will be able to produce V6-like ratings with ease. Ford has said that when found in the 2017 Focus RS, the 2.3-liter will have the ability to generate 316 horsepower with ease.

One of the benefits of the Focus RS is that all of its power will be split between all four of the wheels. It will allow the performance hatch to achieve impressive levels of control and cornering. As we told you when looking at the all-wheel drive system of the RS, it will employ torque-vectoring and will have the ability to shift power from side to side on the rear axle, giving it an impressive level of handling. 70 percent of torque can be diverted to the back, and once there, 100 percent of it can be directed to either wheel.

We’re still not quite sure what the torque output will be the for the 2017 Ford Focus RS, but as the 2015 Ford Mustang is able to generate 320 lb-ft of twist when loaded with the turbo-four, we would imagine that the Focus hatchback will produce a similar number. We will likely know more in the near future.

Ford too demanding on colors. On F650-750 won’t use manual transmissions. Also no air brakes with gas engine. Easy fix drive red Silverado buy International truck. Had to get diesel for air brakes but did get manual transmission. So we don’t all accept someone’s opinions when it’s our money

If they would have run that goofball Ford who planted plants on factory roofs they would still build big Fords. LTL9000 very fine trucks. I guess he didn’t want log, coal hauling money. Biggest trouble Ford ever will have
