2017 Ford Super Duty Fully Boxed Frame
Ford shocked the automotive world last week by unveiling the next-generation of Ford Super Duty pickup trucks. Ford has designed these trucks to be the most capable, tough and smart pickups to ever roll out of a Ford assembly plant. One of the most notable areas that Ford improved this truck is by designing a completely revolutionary frame. Therefore, we wanted to take out a little time to highlight the new 2017 Ford Super Dutys fully boxed frame in this article.
The backbone of any pickup truck is its frame. Therefore, Ford wanted to make sure that the next-generation of Super Duty had the strongest frame that has ever gone into a pickup truck, and they definitely succeeded.
Ford was able to reduce the overall weight of the Super Duty by switching over to a military grade aluminum body. They used some of the weight savings to really beef up the frame of the Super Duty. They have implemented an all-new fully boxed frame that is extremely strong.
The fully boxed frame that they are using on the 2017 Ford Super Duty truck is made up of 95 percent high-strength steel that is 24 times stiffer than the frame on the outgoing model. The blue oval automaker has also incorporated through welded crossmembers and taller cross sections to add even more strength and durability to the frame.
