All-New 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Pricing and Release
Since it was unveiled, the redesigned Raptor has become one of the most anticipated new Ford vehicles, as thanks in part to the new aluminum body, the off-road features and capabilities of the high-performance pickup will be more impressive than ever before. To prepare you for the arrival of the off-road workhorse, we thought it would be helpful to take a look at the all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor pricing and release.
According to Ford, the Raptor will be arriving during the fall of 2016, which means that we have a little more than a year to go. Seeing as we are still a ways away from seeing the off-road pickup on the street, an official price has not been made known yet, but based on the price of the previous models, and on the rumors that have been spreading online, the Raptor will likely have a base price of roughly $46,000.
Although the release date and price may not be officially pinpointed at this time, at this point we’re just glad to know that the Raptor will be coming to market. That is especially true as there are some details about the off-road features and capabilities that have been made official, and that are only getting us more and more excited about the fall release.
As we mentioned earlier, the Ford Raptor will be outfitted with a brand-new aluminum body. Not too long ago—after Ford announced that the F-150 would be making a switch to aluminum—there were rumors of an aluminum-bodied Raptor, as well as rumors that the aluminum body would put an end to the Raptor, but as it turns out the new lightweight skin is more than durable enough for the off-road Raptor, which comes as no surprise. The new body reduces weight by 500 pounds, which helps to increase the pickup’s abilities.
Another big change for the Raptor is its engine. In the past, it was made available exclusively with a larger V8, but for the 2017 model year, that engine has been replaced by a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6 engine. As the engine employs EcoBoost technology, the 3.5-liter comes turbocharged. Much like the release date and price, the output of the engine has not been made official yet, but according to Ford, the six-cylinder will produce more power than the 411-horsepower V8 found in the previous model. That’s good enough for us.
