All-New Ford Sync 3 Infotainment System Benefits
If you are a Ford owner, it’s likely that you’re familiar with the MyFord Touch system, which is currently the sole infotainment system offered in vehicles with the Blue Oval. That is all set to change soon though as the automaker is set to make a switch to a new system, and although there was nothing wrong with the MyFord Touch technology, the all-new Ford Sync 3 infotainment system will have far more benefits.
Again, MyFord Touch was undoubtedly effective, but the Sync 3 system will hold a significant advantage over the former technology. First and foremost, the user interface has been adjusted to make everything much easier. It will also have faster response time, better voice command integration and easier controls.
The screen layout will also play a role in the new system. With fewer item to choose from, finding what you need will be much easier than it has been in the past. The icons themselves will now be larger and have more contrast in the past, to make them easier to discern—especially with a passing glance while you are behind the wheel. For the features of the system that are commonly used, there are dedicated tabs at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to access the audio, climate, phone and navigation controls.
Perhaps the greatest part about the new system is that it will be able to be regularly updated so that you don’t have to miss out on features that come out after you purchase your Sync 3-equipped Ford. All of the system updates will be able to be completed by using your home’s Wi-Fi, making it easy to make updates.
If you are interested in learning more about the all-new Ford Sync 3 infotainment system or want to see all of its features in action, you can check out the video below. Unfortunately, it will still be some time before you will be able to test it out for yourself. Ford has said that the change to Sync 3 will not happen until the 2016 model year, and won’t be fully integrated until the end of 2016. We can’t wait until it finally arrives.
