Missouri Comets Nominate a Charity 50/50 Raffle

The Missouri Comets season has already kicked off to a roaring start with a 13-4 victory, and while there is still one more away game on November 8th, it won’t be long before the Comets make their way to the Independence Events Center for their first home game on the 15th of November. Here at Matt Ford, we are a sponsor of the Comets, and while we have been for the past couple of years, we’ve decided to get even more involved this year.

One of the many aspects that we will have involvement in is the Missouri Comets 50/50 raffle. This year we will be hosting a total of four raffles during home games, but we have yet to determine the charities that will be receiving the money. So, we thought that we would leave it up to all of our loyal customers.

This is how we have decided to do it. If you know of a charity in or around the Kansas City area, simply head to our Facebook page and write on our wall with your nomination. We will continue to accept nominations throughout the Comets season, and the four with the most nominations will be chosen as the accepting charity for half of the money that comes from the total amount raised during the 50/50 raffle.

It is worth noting, however, that the charity must have a minimum of 10 people available to sell tickets during the game. Seeing as half of the money raised through ticket sales goes to the benefiting charity, all of the 50/50 raffle ticket sales are done exclusively by the selected charity. So if you are going to nominate a charity that you support the cause of, be sure that they will be able to put together a small ticket selling staff ahead of the game that they are chosen for. We will notify the winning charities a couple of days in advance to give them plenty of time to assemble a staff.

The only other stipulation here is that a charity can only be chosen for one of the four games. So, if the charity that you nominate is chosen for one of the raffles, you don’t have to continue nominating them. However, if your charity choice isn’t selected, feel free to continue nominating them and encouraging your friends to nominate them as well so that they have a better chance of being selected. Again, all of the nominations will take place on our Facebook page, so be sure to spread the word by sharing our page.

Seeing as the first home game will be taking place on November 15th, we are going to start taking charity nominations right away. The charity with the most nominations submitted by Monday, November 10th at 8:00 a.m. will be chosen as the winning charity for the first 50/50 raffle. All entries for charities that aren’t selected will be carried over for the next game and it will continue that way until the fourth charity is selected.

If you know of a charity that deserves some extra money and has the team available to sell some tickets, be sure to head to our Facebook page right away and nominate them. Then, be sure to share with all of your friends so that they are able to get their nominations in as well and increase the chances of your charity being selected. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us by phone, email or through our Facebook page. We’re more than happy to address any issues or concerns that you have.
