What is Adaptive Steering on the 2016 Ford Edge?

Ford is going to redefine the idea of “power steering” later this year when they release the new 2016 Ford Edge with Adaptive Steering. We have recently had a lot of people asking us, what is Adaptive Steering on the 2016 Ford Edge? Therefore, we have decided to take some time out to answer that question for you in this article.

What is Adaptive Steering on the 2016 Ford Edge? The goal of this new Adaptive Steering technology was to make it easier for drivers to maneuver a vehicle at low speeds, while making the vehicle more fun and agile to drive at high speeds. This all-new Adaptive Steering technology will come as a standard feature on the 2016 Ford Edge Sport and will be available on the 2016 Ford Edge Titanium.

This technology works by changing the ratio between the driver’s actions at the steering wheel, the number of turns and how much the front wheels turn. Vehicles that do not have Adaptive Steering technology have a fixed steering ratio. On the other hand, the Adaptive Steering continually changes the steering ratio with vehicle speed, this helps to optimize your steering experience for all possible conditions.

According to Ford Group Vice President of Global Product Development, Raj Nair, First and foremost, all Ford Motor Company products have to offer a great driving experience. This new steering technology can help make vehicles easy to maneuver and fun to drive.”

This new Adaptive Steering technology will initially only be found on the 2016 Ford Edge. However, it will be made on other vehicles in the Ford lineup in the future.
